This Christmas I adopted a polar bear family in my son, Michael's, name. With this adoption he received a certificate, framed, and a polar bear mommy and cub soft animal to love and cuddle with. I felt he was old enough, just turning nine, to appreciate the gift, and participate in helping to protect one of his favorite animals. The Defenders of Wildlife website has many animals: penguins, wolves, sea turles and more animals to adopt!

Did you know that sea turtles are some of the planet’s most ancient and endangered creatures? Unfortunately, each year hundreds of sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico are killed or injured by a practice known as bottom longline fishing.
